The Career Hub

The Career Hub offers a wide range of in-class workshops to support learning outcomes, facilitate career planning and prepare students for a successful transition from school to work including:

  • Introduction to Career Hub & MyCareer which provides a brief overview of Career Hub services, tools and resources.
  • TypeFocus which measures three interactive concepts (Interests, Personality, Values) and connecting these insights to matching career options.
  • Program Fit which includes career planning for the 21st century – self-discovery, career research, developing a plan of action and reflection.
  • What Can I Do With…? helps students to discover the career pathways related to a particular program/credential and learn how career clarity contributes to student success.
  • Degree Planning which explores degree pathways, articulation agreements, credit transfers, and factors to consider and application processes.
  • Resumes and Cover Letters includes best practices for resume and cover letter development for the college student, tailored to program of study and/or industry.
  • Job Search Strategies which discusses the traditional and hidden job markets with tips on networking, informational interviewing and using leading job search tools.
  • Personal Branding and Social Media which looks at how to create a professional online presence and leverage social media for networking and job search.
  • Interview Skills which examines types of interviews and common interview questions with helpful advice for interview preparation and follow-up.
  • InterviewStream Demonstration which highlights online technology to develop effective presentation skills, master the ’30 second pitch” and enhance interview skills.
  • Online Portfolios featuring how to build an online portfolio to highlight credentials, skills and accomplishments.
